Have an old pickup that is dead? Want to hot rod an existing pickup in your guitar? Our pickup rewinding and repair service will fix the problem and get the pickup back to the specs or the sound you are looking for. Many machine wound pickups can really benefit tonally from being rewound with the hand wound or "Scatter Wound" technique. We will also replace worn parts on request, add a metal cover or new magnet if you want.

We can rewind old pickups to stock specs, or slightly under or over wind them depending on your tastes. Rewinding pickups saves a little money over the cost of new pickups especially if you want a new sound or need to replace a vintage pickup. In some cases, we may not need to completely rewind the old pickup and may be able to use the existing wire. We will make sure the pickup is true to it's vintage specs and materials. In the case of vintage pickups we will make efforts to use the existing wire on request, but the costs will be larger than those listed on this page. Please contact us with any questions. 

Sending in your Pickup for Repair/Rewind

Please contact us with any questions regarding pickup rewinding and repair, or to let us know you've send one to us for some work. Please include in INSIDE your package a separate copy of your address and contact information, as well as a description of the problem as best you can. We will contact you and with estimates for the repairs, and will send you an email invoice before starting your repair/rewind.  Once payment is received, please allow 2-3 weeks for your rewind and return shipping.
