We developed the Vintage P90 for the player who likes the old P90 tones. P90’s are known for their untamed nature and the Vintage model is no different. Tones are raw and thick, with great response to overdrive and a nice round and full sound. Very good note definition and sustain. Available in Soap Bar or Dog Ear configuration.

Traditional Wind: 42 AWG Plain Enamel wire and dual AlNiCo 2 bar magnets. Great sustain with a sifter top end and more focus on the mid range.

Hot Wind: 43 AWG Plain Enamel wire. Dual AlNiCo 2 bar magnets. Overwound for a great single p90 guitar or edgier lead tone. Most often ordered as a dog ear bridge for JR style guitar, but works great paired with a traditional vintage wind in the neck!

    Great P-90 tone

I had a previous 3S project for which I chose Porter pickups, the S-90, and the Hybrid plus, and I was pleasantly surprised by both the clarity and the tone.

I own several instruments loaded with P-90's, so when it came time for a much-needed upgrade on my Epiphone ES-339, I chose Porter.

The Porter pickups tone is pure P-90. The neck provides amazing cleans and will break up nicely when pushed. For the bridge, I chose the "hot" wound version. No disappointments there either. It starts with a nice (not too harsh) honk but roll your volume knob up and look out. The bridge pickup has tons of bark while maintaining the unique P-90 tone.

I have used this guitar for several recordings because it is so easy to dial in good tone.

I highly recommend considering Porter pickups for your next upgrade, or project.
