PorterTron Humbucker

I’m a multi instrumental worship musician and dad so I can’t afford the best of the best for everything I play. So I have a chambered Gretsch G5220 jet. Not the fanciest guitar. But add the Portertrons and the thing screams. It chimes. It does creamy breakup. It is so much fun. Plug into a Helix, dial up an AC30 IR and you have everything you need.

It has Seymour Duncan in before and they were fine, but now I have a little hot rod.

I recently acquired a pair of Porter pickups in an attempt to break out of my typical "PAF" tendencies, as I had those tones covered in other guitars; I wanted to make a different tonal setup for my Epiphone ES-335. The PorterTron has given me that, with a slightly brighter, chime-ier neck pickup that still can do all the good "woman tones" expected from that position. I'm truly impressed!
